An Indian low-cost airline indigo has taken a big step by purchasing, 150 Airbus A320neo fuel-efficient jets. It is the considered one of the biggest deal in commercial aviation history. Airbus is re-designing their popular jet by making it lucrative fuel-efficient plane. The body of the aircraft remains more or less same with minor design changes. A new wingtip device called "sharklets," is been attached to it, which reduce drag avoiding wastage of fuel.
The NEO Airbus, fuel savings is equal to 1.4 million liters of fuel per aircraft, which evidently will diminish up to 3,600 ton of carbon dioxide every year.
